HOW ARE WE KEEPING YOU SAFE?

In a time of uncertainty Soper Creek Wildlife Rescue is committed to making your WILD experience safe. Here is what we are doing to keep your family, our staff and animals safe from potential exposure.

Private tours are offered

Monday - Friday one family at 6:00 pm and a second family 7:15 pm

Saturday & Sunday 8:45, 10, 11:15, 1, 2:15, 3:30 and 4:45
(each slot has a maximum of 6 people from the same household is only permitted)

Despite being outdoors we do require face mask to be wore by both guests and staff.

These times were chosen as we do not operate our summer day program during these hours, therefore these is only one or 2 staff members on property along with the volunteers for the rehabilitation of wildlife (in a completely separate section of the 13 acre property). This minimizes the total number of people that would be on property and in contact with your family.

Tours are between 45-60 minutes depending on which tour type is selected. The staggered time slots ensure that the families do not over lap, 15 minutes for the one family to leave and other to arrive. Should a family arrive early there is a waiting area (a picnic table) which is disinfected in between families for them to sit and wait. At this waiting area there is a sign which outlines our policy for wearing a mask and other tour policies. We have extra masks on hand for those that forget to bring one.

Again, our facility is 100% outdoors and so are our tours.

Your family will travel to different enclosures to hear the stories of why these specific animals can not go back into the wild. If the animal approaches them then you are able to touch and interact with them. For smaller species such as a skunk, our wildlife educator will pick up this animal and allow the guests to interact for a moment before moving onto the next enclosure. Guests are asked to use hand sanitizer at the start of the tour and once leaving.

The pattern of the tour is in a circle shape, guests enter the tour and leave through a different area, again minimizing the chance of exposure to the other family should they be early and waiting. As these tours are 100% outdoors there aren't any surfaces that the members of the public come into contact with other than the interaction with the various animals.

We also have a portable washroom that has been rented which offers running water for hand washing. We ask that all patrons wash their hands prior to leaving the tour.

All tours are pre-booked and payment is made online at the time of booking. A full list of guests and the date and time that they are in attendance is kept on record should we ever need to contact them should a staff member become ill.

Our job is to make sure your family has an experience of a life time! But one that is also safe.
